Every two years the homeowners of Windward Isle vote for a new Governor to represent the HOA at the monthly Property Owners Association (POA) meeting. Each River Bridge community has one Governor.  The election will be held on Dec. 16 at the annual property owners meeting.

The following are some of the responsibilities of an HOA Governor:

• Be acquainted with community documents (bylaws, budgetary items)         
• Must attend a mandatory 4-hour board member orientation (new Governors have 90 days to attend a State sponsored class)
• Attend monthly POA/Governor’s meetings
• Provide information from the meetings to their HOA members at the quarterly HOA Board meetings, and present the HOA concerns to the Board of Governors
• Be prepared to understand and to vote on items that are brought before the Board
• Work cooperatively with other Governors to share ideas for the improvement of the entire River Bridge community

The successful candidate for HOA Governor must be a property owner in the Windward Isle community on Island Way. This is a volunteer position.
